Arabic is spoken by people between Mauritania, across the Atlantic, and Iraq, and across the Persian Gulf. It is also the language of Islam, its inseparable element and symbol, as the Koran was revealed to Mohammed in the Bedouin language, which is the Arabian Peninsula today. It is one of the six official languages of the United Nations used, among others, in Morocco, Egypt, Yemen, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
